On Friday, June 6th that was confirmed by a specialist. I have since undergone one procedure and two surgeries. I am not allowed to do anything - no working, no walking, no housework, nothing strenous - I have to stay in a face down position for most of the day. Just recently the doctor told me I could spend small amounts of time on the computer as long as my head was in a face down position. I am trying to document everything that has gone on and will post all of the information at a later time.Detached Retina (Part I)

John and I are glad to see you're back online. Sorry to see your sad, hurting eye but it's an excellent and appropriate photo. We're both thinking of you constantly and hoping for a good doc report tomorrow. Hang in there. We love you-

Just discovered today that you were back online and bloggin again.
But boy, your eye looks so painful!
My eye can't help but water up and hurt, in sympatico, I suppose(I hope!) upon seeing your photo. Ouch!
Please get better soon!!!
My 12 year old daughter just had Retinal detachment surgery a week ago. How long was it before you had full use of your eye?
Hi Mishlee2,
I had one surgery and then one week later I had to have a second surgery. They also had to remove my lens and then replace it later. I found out I had a detached retina in early June and I was finally released for work and activity in early August. So for me I was not able to see very well for a while. My glasses prescription is stronger now for that eye and it is still a little blurry but functional.
