Phalaenopsis

One of my favorite flowers is the orchid. I have four plants at present. One of them recently started blooming. It is my large white Phalaenopsis. Today it had five blooms with two more yet to open. I have trouble getting them to bloom. A few weeks ago a friend of mine told me what he does to get his to bloom - so I tried it. I picked one day and watered the plants on that day without fail. And low and behold the plant started blooming. I have just started the same plan with the rest of the plants. I took some pictures of the blooms today just in case I can't get it to bloom again. I have included some of those pictures below. I also decided to try my hand at a haiku just for the occasion. Be kind, I am not a poet.

A Phalaenopsis
beautiful, white and fragrant,

continue to bloom.

These pics are beautiful!!**** And - since you like haiku - are you familiar with the archive of Spam haiku? There's some great ones-

THe last two are my favorite. And the very last one reminds me of a Georgia O'Keefe painting.

Wonderfully simple Haiku, too.
I'm impressed. I never did 'get' poetry in school.
